 Alpha Technology Associate, Inc. (Alpha Tech) has begun conducting pre-evaluation ratings for child seat(s) independent from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) Child Safety Seat Ease of Use (EOU) Rating Program. CRS manufacturers will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their products.
Pre-evaluation ratings are independent child seat(s) ratings that follow the same guidelines as the NHTSA EOU program. These rating results will not replace the five star rating scores by NHTSA. Even though the same guidelines are used, Alpha Tech does not guarantee matching results with the NHTSA EOU program. These results should only be used for feedback purposes. If you wish to have a valid NHTSA EOU rating performed, you must request an optional rating from NHTSA.
In addition to the pre-evaluation ratings, Alpha Tech is offering optional consulting services. The consulting services will include a post-evaluation report with recommendations for improving the child seat's rating score. The recommendations are intended to provide the CRS manufacturers with constructive feedback.
